For those of us eagerly awaiting the next offering from The Haus of Gaga the first single from her new album Artpop "Applause" was a big surprise & a total breath of fresh air. For die hard Gaga fans who know too well the artistic unpredictability of The Mother Monster, this new tune was no exception. The electro edge of this song had me at the first beat & made me listen several times to contemplate it's enormity. Both electro & electrifying! The lyrics bear out an irony of the artists experience with the critics but it's as if she is not moved by the voice of the critics, but only by that of the fans. "Pop Culture was in art now, Arts in Pop Culture in me". This is certainly a bit of a change in direction for the artist but not just unpredictability for its own sake, it's a mindful explanatory vocal picture of where she is right now.
Some have said the video is too short & that there were too many weird outfits etc, given the artist & the song I strongly disagree. This is an outstanding artistic interpretation of a song, full of irony & it really holds up two fingers to critics & tells you & I that the song is for us & not the critics. This work it's in my opinion the best she has done to date & believe me I have been listening/singing & playing her stuff since day one. The imperative to just listen to your artistic voice is paramount above all else & is as essential as oxygen. There are indeed no guarantees that people will always get you, but the beauty is as with all of us who sip at the font of Gaga, we have found her, she didn't find us. Your audience will always find you & interpret your message & those who don't will find the provider of theirs. This work is to mimic the mimics & make quiet the scoffers! Of all of the the artists that have shown support to the LGBT community, she, for me is the doyen. Whilst most artists like Elton John & Gloria Estefan are guided by "pictures of dead presidents", Gaga actually put her money where her mouth is when it came to kicking into touch the lucrative distribution deal offered to her by Target. This spoke volumes for me & proved to me she was the real deal. Recent Twitter disagreements with Perez Hilton aka Mario Lavendera have sparked a war between her fans & his. Hilton an internet gossip queen with no discernable talent over & above being a bitch was recently allegedly spotted trying to rent an apartment in her building. Clearly Perez has outstayed his welcome in The Haus of Gaga as he has become increasingly bitchy towards her of late. So much for the new improved Perez, I for one knew it wouldn't last, just ask Britney Spears, Amanda Bynes, Lindsay Lohan & Samantha Ronson about their harassment at his hands. Sam Ronson even had to take him to court in the end, exercising your right to free speech indeed! You are a big old bitch Perez & this is me exercising mine & I'm being polite! His constant attacks on Gaga & her work have become noticeable & his increase in negative retweet's about her are clearly as a result of his ongoing obsession. Seems to me Ms. Hilton should spend more time looking after his son than criticizing artists he can only aspire to be as great as. I am always left wondering why he only attacks women? Maybe he is scared he will be slapped again as in the case of Will-I-Am! I don't usually hold truck with violence but that slap had been coming from somewhere for sometime. Attacks from accidental minor celebrities aside, Artpop promises to be a fabulous album & Applause is gonna be a mega hit. Artistic vision & integrity will shine through every single time & if you are anything like me you will be singing Applause from memory within a few days. Gaga is uniquely qualified to roll with the punches & roll out a few catchy tunes in response along the way. "I stand here waiting for you to bang the gong to crash the critic saying: is it right or is it wrong?"
True, believable & unique as ever Better just call me a geek then dear, thanks Gaga xo
